Girl Meets World

Mass Confusion, a touch of boredom...

I worked Wednesday morning. 8:30am to 5pm. It was a long shift. Not bad though. I actually wanted to extend, but couldn't as they were over staffed. So after my shift I ended up hanging around the coaster breakroom for a couple of hours while I waited for Kelsey and Bree to make their way over to MGM.

When they finally got there we rode once, then headed over to tower to ride that. Fun as always. We ended up having dinner at the Sci-Fi Drive In. I like it there, but I'd just actually eaten some subway so I didn't really get to enjoy the food as I wasn't all that hungry. I'd like to go there one day when I'm actually hungry. lol.

After dinner we met up with Becca and Meg on Sunset and waited in line for Fantasmic. It was an EMH night so the park was packed and the 10:30pm showing of fantasmic was stuffed full of people. The show was awesome as always. Kind of made me sad as it reminded me of last summer and the good old times with Claire and everyone. This summer is amazing, but I still miss how it was last year.

Yesterday was the first of my two days off. I spent the morning just hanging around the apartment reading and what not. Well I actually went to Walgreens as well, as I managed to lose my voice on Wednesday and needed stuff to help get it back. I bought tea, honey, throat losanges. Whatever I could come up with.

I went to see 1408 with Tim in the afternoon. It was an alright show, had alot of unexplained things though, which was kind of a piss off. I had fun, though. It's great having someone to go see movies with!

Today, well I dont' know what's going on today. Most people are working. I wanted to work, but didnt' manage to pick up a shift in time. Which sucks. Not sure if I'll get out of here at all. Which is kind of boring, hense the title of this blog.

What else is there to report about my life? Work is good. Roommates are good. Rebecca is gone for awhile as her family just got down here and she's gone to go stay with them...I kind of like someone, but I'm not going to say who or give well any clues as it's easily figured out. That is where the frustration comes from....lol.

I have nothing left to really say. I've pretty much divulged anything of interest. I'll update again once I have something more than "i just sat around" to say.

Another sighting.

In my last blog I forgot to mention another "celebrity" sighting.

I saw this kid http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1102053/ from Hannah Montana. He plays her friend. Not a big deal, really. Funny story tho. I wasn't there when he first came to the unload area, but a girl named Kelly that I know what. She tried to usher him and his friends through the back door to load and he said "NO, I'm an actor. I load here!" Like in a really snotty voice...lol. It's kind of funny cause nobody at coaster could figure out who he was and his "VIP GUIDE" was worried about him getting mobbed... yeah right. I checked his harness and had no idea it was him. Then I went back to unload after someone told me and I was like..."oh right".

Today was another boring day at work. I'm at home now. No plans for the evening. Just sleep maybe. A bit of reading.

True Story

So the past few days....what have I done? It's all kind of mashed together.

Thursday I had the day off. I was supposed to do something with Jimmy, but that ended up nto happening as he had no clothes and had to do laundry and his brother broke the machine. So I ended up heading to Wal-Mart and getting some groceries and a couple of books.

Friday I worked for 12.5 hours total. I had an scheduled shift in the morning, then I picked up a second one for the night. I wanted hours. It was actually a pretty good day, it didn't feel long at all. After the park closed and all of us clocked out we went to Perkins for some food. I got french toast, only ate about half of it. It was a fun night tho.

Saturday I worked til 9:30pm. I could have gone home on the bus, but I hate the bus and I had wanted to go and buy something in the park. So I hung around so that I could get a ride home from Tim.

Sunday- today. Woke up at 630am and headed to work. Gross time of day to be awake I tell you. It was a pretty shitty shift. Well it started out alright. For the first hour it was really good. We were open just for the jump ropers who were doing a competition at the park. So there were like no people and I just stood around at Front Grouper talking to Matt and Tim and Scotty. When the rope finally dropped and we got busy things got gross. I was tired and really hungry and I didn't get my break for like 3.5 hours. We were so short staffed that I was trapped at Front Grouper, my most hated position, for all 3.5 of those hours. Then when I finally got my first break, it wasn't 'official' so I had to go back to where I was in the rotation, which meant I was at Lobby, which I also dont' like. Was there for about 2 hours before I rotated to Distribution. Was there for awhile then got my lunch. I had high hopes for the period of time after lunch. I was going to do great things. Then I clocked in and got sent right back to Front Grouper and through that damn rotation all over again.

My bump off came late. So I missed the first bus. I had to wait half an hour. When I got to the bus stop this random girl started to talk to me. She was uber wierd. Showed me her autograph book and kept refering to Mickey Mouse as her boss, like she really, truly believed it. When the bus came I let her go on first, then found a seat a way away from her.

It started to pour about five seconds before the bus got to Vista, so I got to run to my apartment through it. Was drenched by the time I hit our front door. I got changed and was just about to make some food when I got an IM from Tim seeing if I wanted to go see a movie. I did. So we went and saw Evan Almighty. It was pretty funny, tho not as good as Bruce Almighty. Going out tonight totally turned my day around. I've been so 'at work' the past few days, it's nice to go out and do fun stuff.

Tomorrow I work at 745am again. Awful awful time to be working. So I'm going to head off to have a shower now, then bed.

The rest of my week is all morning shifts. No sleep for me. Not sure what I'll do this week. Hopefully I'll get to go have some more fun. I love fun.

A tale of two days

So yesterday I worked. It was a night shift. 4:30pm-6:30pm. Not crazily exciting, but fun. I started out the night with two half our tasks- VIP tours. The first one I got, I just kinda wandered around and did other random tasks. I hate doing VIP tours. The second one I got, my manager was standing there when I got it, so I kind of had to do it. I went and found some family and took them through. They weren't exaclty the best family, didn't seem to really care. So when I got to the load platform I had no qualms kind of deserting them when I saw Mehki Phiepher standing there! You know who I'm talking about, Pratt from ER. Well actually at first I thought it was the guy from house, Omar Epps, but then I wasn't so sure....

I completely freaked. Got all giddy and what not. I rushed over to unload to tell the people who were there. Then I proceeded to stand there and watch as each train passed me by. Finally his showed up and I was very openly staring at him. Which he of coursed noticed, he gave me a giant smile. I turned bright red and got really excited. lol.

That was the highlight of my shift. The rest of it went by alright. I got trapped at load for the last hour of my shift, but it was actually alright. I was in a pretty good mood and Wendy was there for most of it, which was fun. I like Wendy, she's cool.

Today I went to the Animal Kingdom with Jaime and Alex. It was fun. We started out on Everest, then went and had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. After that we went over and got fast passes for Dinosaur, then walked over to Safari and got in line. Waited over an hour....it was long and hot. Finally we got on and thankfully most of the animals were awake. Lots of babies. Baby giraffes, baby elephents, baby white rhinos. It was different in a wierd way tho, as they took out the references to Little Red (if you even know what I'm talking about) and were just talking about poachers and baby elephants.

After that we got caught by the parade so were forced to watch it. After that we walked to Dinosaur and did that. Still wasn't able to keep my eyes open for most of the ride. Lastly we hit up It's Tough to be a Bug, which was entertaining. Alex hates spiders, so it was funny watching her freak out.

After that Alex had to catch a bus to Coronado as her parents were arriving there, so Jaime and I caught the bus back to Vista, we said our goodbyes and now I'm back at the apartment, relaxing. Kind of bored.

That's all for now,

Brynna

Darnit

So I got to coaster yesterday morning and was saddened to see that it was up and running. I mean, it's nice that the ride is working, but the downtime kind of had it's fun bits. Like not being in rotation. That was lovely. Of course standing outside in the blazing sun was a bitch, but seeing as I spent over half my day out there anyways yesterday, I prefer the downtime.

Other than that nothing of excitement has really happened. Ryan gave me a ride home after work yesterday, which was very nice as I hate the bus with extreme and unrelenting passion.

Last night I stayed home and read, which was relaxing. I wanted to go do something, but I was really tired from the 6:30am wakeup and couldn't bring myself to do anything but languish.

I have nothing else to report. I work tonight from 4:30pm til 10:30pm. Hopefully it will be a good shift.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroken

That is the sad sad story of coaster! For like the past three days the ride has pretty much been completely and totally broken. It was open for a tiny while on Friday apparently, I was off, so I didn't see that. I got to work yesterday and they were all like, ya it's down, its' been down all day. It's so bad that they're flying someone in from overseas to look at it! We don't know what's wrong with it really, but the cars like won't launch. They go like 50 feet into the tunnel and just kind of stop.

So my shift basically was comprised of me sitting inside and doing nothing, or hanging around outside and telling guests that the ride was closed. It wasn't too horrible. I kind of had fun last night, just talking to people and what not.

Today was a different story as the ride was still completely broken, but it was not night, so when I was outside I was faced with direct sunlight and no shade. After thirty minutes I was ready to pass out. Luckily I got to spend a good half of the day indoors. Being inside was fun as all we did was sit around and talk. I got to clean out the breakroom with Tim for awhile. That was a nice reprieve from the sun. I didn't get too burnt, but my scalp is bright bright red and really painful. Having a shower was just wonderful.

Tonight it's an early night for me. I've got to be up at 630am tomorrow. Not looking forward to it one bit!

So that's my update for today. I'll

Update

So when did I update last? I guess the last you heard of me I'd just seen Knocked Up. That was on Monday night I beleive.

Well since then I haven't really done all that much.

On Tuesday I worked, night shift. It was an okay night, nothing terribly thrilling happened.

Wednesday I didn't work until like 5pm. I was there til 1:30am. I hate extra magic hours. I really don't think they are necessary. Thankfully that night I had it pretty easy at work. I got the launch base rotation three times, which is amazing, cause you get to sit in Launch Base.

Whenever the next launch base rotation came through and I'd get sent to load, my break would come, which is awesome. I hate loading. The one time my break wasn't due to come through, miraculously a second LB rotation went through in like ten minutes. Which sent me to unload advance and away from the dreaded load. The other times I clocked in that night I either got a task or got sent to Studio C, which is alright as it's at the end of one of the rotations, which means that I get to clock in when the rotation comes thru. The night ended up going really well.

Thursday was not so great. I was supposed to do something with Jimmy, but he blew me off. I'm mad at him right now, though I don't hate him, like I'm sure he beleives. I ended up going shopping with the girls.

Yesterday I went to MK with Becca and Angie. It was fun. We went on Pirates, Small World, Philarmagic, Carousel of Progress, Buzz Lightyear and Splash Mountain.

I bought a shirt too yesterday.

I'm working again tonight. At 3:30pm. Not looking forward to it. I work at 9am tomorrow. I hate having a night then a morning shift. Sleeping is not going to be good tonight.

Soggy and Sleepy

The past few days have been alright, not totally exciting, which is why I haven't been rushing here to write about my mundaneness, but now that I have a few days worth of uninterestingness, I thought I'd share!

On Saturday I had the day off. I ended up going to Epcot with Jimmy. He came and picked me up around 2pm and we had lunch at Chik-fil-a. After that we drove to Epcot, parked and then ventured into the park. We started off as all do, at Spaceship Earth. No matter how boring it is, I'll never tire of that ride! After that we went to I think Soarin'. Though it could have been innoventions. lol. We'll act like it was Soarin'. When we got to The Land, the building that Soarin' is in, there were all these people just standing outside and no one could get in. Jimmy and I were very confused and wanted to know what was going on, so we hung around. It turns out there had been a fire alarm inside and the building had been evacuated. This meant that ten minutes later, when they finally let people inside, we like walked on Soarin'. That is incredibly rare, as the line is usually at least 1.5 hours long, if not longer.

After that we went on Nemo, which was cute, very little kiddish though. It was still fun. Then of course we went on Figment, as it's an Epcot tradition.

Eventually we ended up at innoventions, whether it was before or after Soarin' I have no idea. We did Where's the Fire, which was really fun. I'd never done it before. Our team won, of course. Then we went over to the other side of innoventions and did the House of the Future or whatever it's called. It was really cool as it was just on a soft opening. It had been closed and completely updated. They had all these really cool new things in there. The kitchen was completely different. It had this wall mounted oven, that hung like above ur head, and to load it u hit a button and the bottom descended to the counter top. I want one!

Also they changed the 'sewing' room they used to have to like a family room and had these really cool 'fake' instruments that teach you to play. I want the guitar.

The bathroom was also different, had a massive spa shower in it and a toilet without a tank. It was fun.

Oh and the TV was really cool, it was like computer/tv and had the harddrive thingy that lets you tape three programs at once! I totally want one of those.

And the computer they had was touch screen, which was also cool.

So after innoventions we ended up over at Mission Space. Jimmy managed to get me on it, in the bad side too. Of course it freaked me out and gave me a headache. Made me feel like I couldn't breathe, but I lived. As we were getting off we ran into Joey and his cousin...We ended up hanging out with them for awhile. We went to Test Track, the line was miracuously not long.

After that we had dinner at Electric Umbrella. High five for refillable drinks.

Then we went on the new ride in Mexico, they massacred the old one and disneyfied it. Now it stars three mexican cartoon birds, one is donald. And it's really lame. Doesn't really make sense and is just really stupid.

Then we went home. I had an early shift the next day, so I needed to go to sleep....

The next day was...Sunday...that was a long day. I got to work, worked. Then went home, just as I was leaving MGM is started to absolutely pour. By the time I got back to my apartment I, and everything on me, including my work shoes, was drenched. It really sucked.

Then Monday....yesterday, I worked at 745am, which meant I had to be up at 6:30am. It was gross. Went to work, had a mostly uneventful day. Went home, and called up Alex to see if she wanted to go see Knocked Up. Eventually we all ended up going, well me, becca, meg, alex, bree and Angie (alex's new roomie, she goes to MAL but only showed up on the 10th as she had visa issues).

We got to Downtown Disney just as it started to rain. Got soaked on our way to the theatre. Froze inside. The movie was really awesome tho. So good. Sooooooooo funny.

After that we caught the bus home and I went to bed.

The End.

Brynna

It's all coming back to me now.....

So today was a long, wierd work day. But it was actually pretty good as far as days go! This morning I got up around 10:30am and hung around the apartment for a couple of hours, talking to the roommates (all of them had the day off today!) and fiddling about on the computer. I took the 1pm bus to work, started at 1:45pm.

When I clocked in I got sent to greeter, which I was none to happy about as it was stinking hot out there today! So I was at greeter for about ten minutes when I see this Guest Services guy coming over with this little boy with really long hair to measure him. So I go up to the bar that measures the kid and look at his height. His head it not quite touching so I get him to put his feet together, stretch his kneck and then I do the general knock about of his head, trying to get his scalp to graze the bottom of the height stick. Finally, after manhandling this kids head, I make it work and I tell the little boy he's free to ride. Then I look up and his mother who is standing a few feet away asks in a nice French Canadian accent if he's tall enough. I say yep! It's then that I take a close look at this woman who sounds so familiar. She looks normal enough, except most guests dont' walk around with belts that say chanel all over them. She was incredibly familiar looking.

Then I look at the kid and all of a sudden it clicks. Did I not just see a picture of this kid on Perezhilton.com....yes I did. It was a photo of him and his mother, Celine Dion. So there I'm standing watching as Celine Dion is walking away from me! I couldn't beleive it. My first real coaster celebrity. Joey Fatone doesn't count as he's kind of a hasbeen....lol.

Of course after they were out of earshot I told any other castmember who would listen who I'd just seen. I was freaking out. I remember the good old days when I was nine years old. I had two cds. The Backstreet Boys and a Celine Dion cd I stole from my mom. I used to listen to that song "there were moments of gold and there were flashes of light, there were things I'd never do again but then they always seemed right, there were night of endless pleasure........" you know! It's all coming back to me now! Love that song. And who could forget My Heart Will Go On, anyone who remembers me at the age of 10 knows how obsessed I was with Titanic....

So that pretty much lifted my spirits for the day. I told all the coaster people how I had measured Celine Dion's son.

Later in the day I got Launch Base and not ten minutes into being in there, I get a zone one evac. That's when a kid is too scared to ride and we have to evacuate them from Zone one, which is where the train launches from. We have to shut off the ride so that the pusher car doesn't launch while trying to get the kid out. It's pretty routine and usually only takes fifteen minutes. Today that was not the case. Somehow maitenance frakked things up and the pusher car wasn't working and finally after like half an hour we thought we had the train working. So we put the guests back in the limo and the train launched. Its' supposed to go 0-60 in 2.5 seconds at launch. This first train when 0-about 2miles per hour. It was the slowest launch ever. lol. So obviously something was broken and we were still down. We ended up having to dump the building and what not. The ride was down for at least 2hours. And I was stuck at Launch Base being 'in control' for almost all of that. I didn't even really know what I was doing either, so it was a bit stressful. lol.

So we finally got back up around 8:30pm. I was in rotation for a bit then I got a couple of tasks. I clocked out at 10:15pm and caught the bus home. It was packed. I don't get why American Bus always sends the little ones to MGM when they know that everyone gets off work at 10:30 and thus all those people aren't going to fit!

I'm home now. Not sure where any of the roomies are. I think they mentioned going out dancing. I'm tired. I think I"m going to go read then off to sleep. More updates as my life unfolds.

Brynna

P.S- I'll try to post the few pics I have eventually. It's just so much work tracking down my camera and the base....where is my camera by the way?

Four Day Mash Up

Ok I'll try and get the last few days crammed into this blog. I'll probably forget many things, and for that I appologize, but I'll make sure to put in the most important stuff!

First off, sorry I haven't blogged lately, but as I've started working I've been too busy/tired.

So we'll start off with...Saturday?

Saturday night was, well it was interesting to say the least. I worked from 6:45pm til 3am during One Mighty Party, which, if you don't know, is a giant GAY convention/party that is held at MGM every year. It's part of the gay days weekend. So the park closed to regular folk at about 9pm and then incame the gays, and boy did they come. There were lots, and lots, and lots. For the most part it was men, with a few token women thrown in here and there. They came wearing all sorts of things, from normal clothes, so skin tight jeans, to clothes befitting the opposite sex, well men in drag. Dude really does look like a lady....An extreme majority of the men saw fit to just take their shirts off. There was even a guy with breast implants walking around with naught but two shiny stars on them.....

The gays were nice for the most part. Some stroked my head and commented on how lovely my hair was, disbeleiving that it was in fact natural. At unload I got bitched out by a guy when he lost his phone on the train and we weren't able to locate it. I never did see anything too raunchy, I was warned that I might.

I must say tho, that those guys take really good care of themselves. The shirtless, well for the most part those guys had a reason to be shirtless. Such a waste....

The park closed to the gays at 230am...we closed the building and then clocked out. I ended up tagging along on a trip to Perkins for breakfast. It was awesome but wierd, there were like none of the old crowd there, save for Donald and Kathie. I had food, it was good. We left there around 445am. I got a ride back to Vista with a girl named Joy. When I got back to my apartment I realized that my cell was missing and I went into panic mode. I spent an hour freaking out, calling perkins and trying to get Joy's phone number to see if she had it. I finally fell asleep around 6am, aided by some Tylenol PM. I was too wound up to go the natural way.

Sunday I did some more work trying to track down Joy's number, did but then discovered she was out of minutes and therefor 'not in service'. I did find out that she was working in the afternoon tho, so I went to MGM with Alex and Pierre and managed to track down Joy who had my phone with her. thank god.

Came home around 8 that night, spent a good while starring at the computer, but not doing much of anything. I was uber tired. I tried reading, but couldn't as my hand was shaking and the book was therefor unreadable.

Monday....I worked. I didn't do much else but work. That was last night. I had an eight hour shift.

Today I also worked, also haven't done anything else really. Except for acquiring a major heat rash or irritation or burn on my legs, made possible by the sucky polyester shorts disney forces me to wear. It burns and it hurts. I went to walgreens and bought whatever I thought might help. So far the Aloe isn't really working. Damn.

I work again early tomorrow morning. 830am. Ugh. And I did that by choice, I could have worked an evening shift, but no, I got stupid and was like....i could have the afternoon off. So now I have to wake up at 730. Gross.

So now i have to things like get ready for bed. I will try and update more later, but be warned as I work now, there's not as much time to do so.

Merge: Rest in Peace

Oh the good old days of coaster are over. Gone is merge and the once lovely studio B. In place is the 'hybrid' position of Lobby. This my friends, is not a nice change, but a hectic and stressful one. I shall forever lament the loss of my beloved Merge with it's handy little counter thingy and Studio B, where I had more than enough time to spiel whenever I wanted. For there are no spiels to be done now that the job of merging lines and taking fastpassses to load the show takes up the entire 3 minutes. Sigh.

Now this isn't to say that I don't still love my ride, because I do. I just wish they hadn't changed it.

Today I was officially recertified at coaster. It was a pretty good shift, long and very early. I had to be up at 4:30am to catch the bus at 5am. Gross. It was a very tiring day.

After work I came home and splayed out on the couch with a book for awhile. Eventually my roomies came home and joined by Alex and her roommate, we all set off to Bennigans for dinner. I had the same as I had for lunch the other day, I just can't get enough of those buffalo chicken things. My new fave food!

I'm back at the room now. I really don't have much else to report. It's officially started raining. As we were walking back from dinner a frog jumped on my foot. I screamed.

Oh and Walgreens now has their own version of ice cream, so I got some yummy looking stuff, two pints for 3 dollars. Which is not bad, considering I used to get the Edy's for 2 for 5 dollars. Tho they don't have the Edy's anymore, which makes me sad. Maybe the gas station will....must check.

Going to go do other stuff now. G'night.

Brynna
