Girl Meets World

The begining of the end.

Wow. It's been quite awhile since my last update. So long that there's no way in hell I'll be able to update you on everything simply because I have no memory of what everything entails. Brief rundown of key events:

June 3oth. Alex procured a difficult to come by reservation at Le Cellier, so me, her, and one of her old friends from GMR took in a showing of Captain EO during Cast Preview, then went over the restaurant and indulged in a delicious meal. I had cheddar cheese soup, Prime Rib with cream cheese mashed potatoes, and a chocolate mouse...yummm.

July 1st was spent with my wonderful roommate Alex and two of her work friends, Matt and Matt, at Universal Orlando. Awesome day filled with Harry Potter...we ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks and inhaled incomprihensible amounts of Butterbeer, went on the Forbidden Journey twice, and engaged in various other bits and pieces of awesomeness. Until the rain started and eventually drove us, sopping wet, out of the park.

July 7th, Right now there's an event going on in Africa at the Animal Kingdom called Taste of Africa where they've brought out all these Amazing African dishes that you can purchase. They also have a sort of parade/street party during it. On July 7th after park close there was a cast preview which I attended with some friends from work. Free food (banana bread pudding, samosas, curry chicken, beef bobotie (a beef pie) and a mango milkshake...yummm. The music was great and the party atmosphere was splendid. Had an amazing time!

July 8th, once more with Alex, went to Animal Kingdom and finally saw The Festival of The Lion King for the very first time. We also had lunch at Pizzafari, took a two week safari with one of Alex's old work friends, Paul, as our guide, hiked the Mahoraja (Sp?) Jungle Trek, oohed and ahhed over monkeys, explored Everest, learned the hardships of being a bug, and then ate Jalepeno Cheese pretzels that made us go "oooh" (in a good way).

July 13th. Alex's Birthday! Vicki and I decorated the apartment and it looked awesome. One day I'll post photos. Don't hold your breath, not likely to happen before christmas. Alex went skydiving in the morning and got home around noon with her friend Cory from work. We had some birthday cake and then got ready and headed over to the magic kingdom. Did Hall of Presidents for the very first time, went on the Carousel of Progress - my first time this summer, man I love that 'ride' - went on the TTA, ate sweet cream cheese pretzels which are AMAZING, went to the Tiki Room for some confusing bird song, and then took a Jungle Cruise. At ten pm, the group of us which had expanded to about 15 by then, headed over to the Polynesian where we had the most delicious dinner at 'Ohana. I'm still thinking about the bread pudding...and the noodles, and chicke, and pot stickers. Such a good night.

July 14th (yesterday). Alex and I went to Property Control/Cast Connection to do a bit of shopping and then later in the evening we saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice which was pretty good. Not a cinematic masterpiece, but I definately enjoyed it.

So that pretty much brings us up to date. I haven't mentioned work, as you can tell, because I can't really be bothered. It's not bad, but not that exciting either. I prefer the days I'm off. They make me happy.

It's so strange how quickly this summer has gone by. I'm looking back at all those things I just listed, and I can't believe dinner at Le Cellier was only two weeks ago. It seems like so long ago, but then again, it seems like it just happened. It feels like just yesterday I was telling people I'm done in three weeks, but as of today, it's two. I'm sad this summer is ending, I am. I'm really going to miss being here. Maybe not the job so much this time, but I'll certainly miss the lifestyle and the people. I'll miss going to the parks when I have free time and shopping at the outlets. It's annoying, because even with how much I don't care for the work I'm doing right now, I still have a hunger for Disney and I really don't know how to get rid of it. But I'm happy to be coming home to. I miss my Dad, and my friends. I've seen Amanda's baby once! That's it. And I can't wait to see her again. I miss everyone. And I miss my bed. I can't wait to crawl into it and just lie there for awhile. After the bed I've been on all summer, it's going to be heaven.

Ugh I have so much to do in the next two weeks. Packing, shopping, park hopping...I'll never get it all done. I guess I should go attempt to be productive in some way, shape or form. It's already 7pm and all I've done today is laundry and HULU. Sometimes you need to just veg I guess.

Until next time, I promise I'll try to write at least once more before I leave.
