I'm not as dark as I sound...
I promise. After my post yesterday I went out with Kevin and his family and had a blast. Nicest people ever! It truly was tons of fun. We attempted to go to Celebration for dinner but in small town fashion everything was closed at 10:00pm and we'd gotten there at 10:15pm. So we drove back to the Vista area and had a nummy dinner at The Orlando Ale House. I had a burger that was to die for. Red meat and I have been apart far too long. Sure I've had a cheeseburger from McD's but that's not real red meat, it's imitation at best. Then I ate a bunch of Kev's hot fudge brownie, nummy as well. Then it was back home and back to sleep. Man do I love my sleep. This morning I was up at 9am to make it to my 10:30am shift. My shift, as you may remember me metioning, was 11 hours long. My feet are going to fall off. On the bright side, I didn't hate it. I had a pretty good day actually. Until I got stuck at Unload for 1 hour and 45 minutes that is, that kinda blew. Other than that life was fun. Although over 10 Brazilian groups came through which was it's own kind of hell. Have I mentioned the Brazilians before? If I haven't I'll tell you. For some reason beyond me Brazilian tour groups seem to be obsessed with Disney World. Every day hundreds of Brazilians come through the parks not understanding a word we say and being louder than I thought was possible. They sing and chant and rush at you and don't listen to a word you say. You send them to row 7, then end up in row 11. If you ever want to make a load of money, just set up a tour agency in Brazil and send everyone to Disney World, cause they all want to come. I think by the end of summer over half the country will have been here. Most of the time the members of each tour group wear matching shirts. Like today I saw 2 different groups in green shirts, 2 in blue (one navy/ one sky), 2 in red, 1 in grey, 1 in orange and 1 in white. The worst is when they don't wear the matching shirts and wear just plain clothes because you don't expect them. They sort of come up on you without warning and it really shakes you to the core. The singing is the worst, though, cause they are so incredibly loud and you have no idea what they are saying. The other guests cower in fear with you. So I had to deal with a ton of Brazilians today which wasn't in the least bit fun, but oh well.
On the bright side I did encounter the hottest Brazilian ever. He was gorgeous and he had a good command of the English language and he was super nice. I was at FP return and he had 54 tickets to get fast passes for so I started to help him out as no one else was having any problems. He was super nice and very grateful. And he called me by my name. So nice and did I mention? So gorgeous!
The other day Naveen told me the only word he knew in Spanish was Salida (Sp?) which means exit. Then today some non english speaking spanish woman came up to me and said 'Salida?' and I knew what she wanted! It was wonderful. So I sent her in the right direction. How cool am I?
I'm off tomorrow, no idea what I'll end up doing. Maybe some food shopping. Tuesday I beleive it's park day with Charlotte and Jei. Who knows? We'll see. Then I think I'll work something like 6 days in a row. LOL. By choice too. I could have Monday off but I'm trying to get a shift switch so my days off are blocked together.
Whenever I'm away from the computer I always think of tons of great things to mention in my blog but I always forget by the time I get here. It's annoying as I really have all these funny little things to share with you. Like how slow the people who work at the Take 5 Subway are. It's really annoying as you only get a half hour break and they take like half of it to make the sandwhich, and they don't even do it well.
Oh I know what I did today that was stupid, I dropped an entire box of blank fastpass slips and ruined them all. I was trying to refill the machine but my hands were slippery from sweat and I just kind of slipped. It was embarassing.
Oh and the heat here right now is insane. So those at home know what I'm talking about. Imagine the hottest day possible, then imagine being out in that and standing behind exhaust pipe of a running vehicle. That's what it feels like here all the time. Then every once in awhile it rains, it doesn't stop being hot, it just gets thicker. So those of you in other places thinking it's too damn hot, try living in Florida during the hottest months of the year. I do not understand why people come here in the summer. It's too hot and too wet. And they always complain to you about it. I'm getting used to it, though. So good on me.
I'm running out of things to say, so bye all. More later.
